Warframe =Brc=

Join the Tenno, a group of assassin ninjas wearing hightech suits called warframes as they do missions that range from assassination, to clearing out hoards of enemys, to defense missions.

This game is in open beta but i can see the potential of this game. you can do coop missions which will not only level up your suit, but your weapons you are using as well. the modding system is unique, or at least i havent seen on similar. it poses a good difficulty that makes you wanna join friends. there are even special missions and submissions that can pop up randomly during missions or during the load out screen. i once was in a mission and a random assassin showed up saying i have come for your head ZeroAlkaiser.  we, we as in Grim, also have made a brc clan in the game, during which Necronik was playing and an assassin came saying, death to brc or some such.

this game is constantly updating and there is more content that i havent explained, such as blueprings, other warframe models and more. if this has peaked your interest look up Warframe on Steam, its free to play so anyone can play.

The Passing – In Real Life (…Kinda)

I recently took a trip to Savannah, GA and had a few minutes to snap some pictures near River Street, which is the basis for much of The Passing. The designers definitely took some liberties when recreating the area in-game, but you can see they tried to make a “gameified” version of the historic district in downtown Savannah.

If you ever get a chance, definitely visit the city. It’s beautiful, full of personality (and personalities), and has enough to keep you constantly busy for days.

Trib a.k.a Wicked “Retires” from =BRC=

As some of you know, i have started college in mid September 2012. It started pretty slow and was enjoying it (I still do, don’t get me wrong). But modules are getting harder and requires me to study a whole lot more (Try learning a new module while re-reading/studying a 1000 page book for 2 exams at the same time!). The past couple weeks i have been hitting the books like a mad man (At least 10 hours a day!). Before school i had a full time job (now i do part-time) but that didn’t stop from playing with you guys (I stay up late all the time! :P). But with college on my main schedule, now that’s a totally different story. Playing Video Games for 10 hours a day has diminished to 2-3 hours! (Even Less!). For some that’s a lot in a day. But for me to find time to play Left 4 Dead 2 or any other games that we have servers on (Plus the motivation) and the 200+ games i own, 2-3hours is not a whole lot. (I probably waste 1 hour just to figure out what i wanna play!). I had fun playing left 4 dead 2 with you guys for the past year, especially Minecraft! But right now, passing my Certs. and finding a good career is what’s important for me at this moment. I will still be around on Steam though! You guys take care, and good luck in the future!

A Little Bit About “LERP”

LERP

Interpolation means mixing between a past gamestate and a current one to create smoother motion. Lerp settings set how far in the past players will look for their interpolation.

If I’m sitting with a Lerp of 0ms, I’m seeing only the most recent state I’ve received. Say I’m a tank in L4D. There’s someone running away from me, and he’s just out of my reach. I toggle my Lerp value to 100ms, and now the gamestate I’m seeing is further in the past. Both the client and the server are okay with this, and now my hits are calculated against the old gamestate. I’ve just gone into the past to get a punch I otherwise couldn’t.

This helps mitigate that issue (in terms of cheating) by echoing, logging, tracking lerp changes. In tournament play, this is enough proof of cheating to overturn a match result.

A Little Bit About “PING”

PING

In multiplayer online video games, ping (not to be confused with frames per second) refers to the network latency between a player’s computer (client), and either the game server or another client (i.e. peer). This could be reported quantitatively as an average time in milliseconds, or qualitatively as low ping or high ping. The latter usage is common among players of first-person shooter and real-time strategy games. Having a low ping is always desirable because lower latency provides smoother gameplay by allowing faster updates of game data.

Ping is often conflated with lag. One may “lag out” due to unacceptably high ping. Servers will often disconnect a client if the ping is too high and it poses a detriment to others’ gameplay. Similarly, client software will often mandate disconnection if the ping is too high. A high ping is not the result of lag; rather, a high ping causes lag. It may also make servers crash because of the stability.

Some factors that might affect ping include: network protocol engineering, Internet connection speed, the quality of a user’s Internet service provider and the configuration of firewalls. Ping is also affected by geographical location. For instance, if someone is in India, playing on a server located in the United States, the distance between the two is greater than it would be for players located within the US, and therefore it takes longer for data to be transmitted. However, the amount of packet-switching and network hardware in between the two computers is often more significant. For instance, wireless network interface cards must modulate digital signals into radio signals, which is often more costly than the time it takes an electrical signal to traverse a typical span of cable.
